Other Work Experience
1/2001 - 3/2002 Key3Media Events Needham, MA
Exhibitor Housing Coordinator I handled hotel accommodations for 200 + exhibiting companies at over 10 US conferences that Key3Media produces throughout the United States. I worked as the liaison between the hotel and the exhibitor. There were a variety of responsibilities in this position. I handled large accounts that deal with hundreds of people. It was my job to make sure that they were happy, well rested and at their best when they are involved in the conference. I worked with each client throughout the year from the initial sale to the feedback collected after the show has completed. I fielded a list of phone calls, emails and faxes as well as attend weekly meetings regarding all the aspects of a particular show. I handled 2-3 shows at one time. This involved knowing specific hotel, restaurant and entertainment details about a variety of cities. I was also required to dedicate time to researching information from past shows to use as comparison material when setting up current accounts. When the east coast branch of the company was closed down, I was sent to the west coast to train others to handle on how to maintain the exhibitor housing department.
10/1998 - 9/2000 The National Music Workshop Litchfield, CT
Executive Director I was hired to open the National Music Workshop. In doing this I opened a music day camp, called DayJams, for children ages 10-15 in 5 states. The program allowed these children to learn how to play instruments and be a part of their own band during the duration of the program. As Executive Director, I worked solely and covered every aspect of the company, from advertising to hiring to programming. The program doubled in size in its second year. You may see the program by visiting www.dayjams.com.
1996 Internship- Bumbershoot festival Programming intern I worked as intern for the programming department of One Reel, the production company for Bumbershoot-the Seattle Arts Festival. As intern I handled scheduling and arrangements for hundreds of performers participating in the 4 day event. During the show I was responsible for the will call area of the event as well as checking in at each of the 15 performance areas throughout the day to take care of whatever was needed. After my year as intern, I continued to work at the festival for the next 5 years.
